Terms and Conditions

  • It is in your own interest to read the entry conditions, and the Category descriptions in order to decide whether your submission is eligible, what materials you will need to support your entry, and which category best suits your entry/entries.

  • Judges reserve the right not to judge an entry if the submission requirements have not been met. Entries of material broadcast outside the awards period of 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2013 will be disqualified.

  • Deviation from these guidelines, or missing information, may result in disqualification. The judges' decisions will be absolute and final; no correspondence relating to them will be entered into.
  • A category will not be judged if insufficient entries are received.

  • All correspondence regarding your entry/nomination will be directed to the person named on your entry form. Please ensure that this person is the most relevant contact.

  • The MTN Radio Awards  cannot undertake the return of submissions, as they are archived for educational and reference purposes.

  • Clips from your entry may be used for promotional, educational and research purposes. Furthermore, extracts from these may be used within the Awards presentation production on the night of the MTN Radio Awards presentation.

  • The Future Group and the MTN Radio Awards do not accept responsibility for any entries lost or damaged in transit

  • Entries for the MTN Radio Awards 2013 must have been broadcast on FM or AM, between 01 January 2013 and 31 December 2013. All stations entering Station of the Year are required to have been broadcasting for at least 12 months from 01 January 2013.

  • Entries may be made by ICASA (or similarly regulated) Licensed Radio Stations, and Independent Production Organisations, the latter of whose submission must consist of material broadcast on ICASA (or similarly regulated) Licensed Radio Stations. Submissions will only be judged from entrants functioning legally and conforming to the accepted standards of taste, decency and responsibility, to which licensed SA broadcasters are committed.

  • You are required to keep a copy of the master tape from which your programme or extracts are taken as the judges may ask for it. Failure to supply this information on request may result in disqualification, as will any evidence of editing (beyond that which is permitted). Spot checks will take place and stations may be called upon, at random, to provide original log tapes.

  • The sponsors, organising committee and judging panel will not be held accountable for the failure of any judge or judges to follow the judging instructions issued to them.

  • All ‘ties’ will be decided by the casting vote of the chairperson of the judging panel.

  • The organising committee may, at its sole discretion, decide to use any entry or entries in the public domain (broadcasting, for example), for the purpose of promoting the MTN Radio Awards. Entrants agree to the use of their entries – or any part of them – for this purpose and waive any claim they may have to remuneration.
Submitting an entry to the MTN Radio Awards is deemed to confirm your acceptance of all the terms and conditions that apply.
